  • Built-in expression pedal for volume, wah, and effect control
  • Amp and cabinet modeling with 24-bit A/D/A conversion
  • Chromatic tuner and drum machine included
  • Left and right stereo output for wide signal routing
  • Headphone jack for silent practice
  • Includes original box, power adapter, manual, and receipt from 2004 (paid $89)

I just plugged this baby in to re-test it and was blown away. I used to dismiss Digitech's digital distortion tones as thin, buzzy, and artificial — but through a good-sounding amp, the RP80 delivers a surprisingly usable array of distortion, delay, and modulation tones.

I originally bought this unit for my son as an introduction to modulation effects, and it made a fantastic learning tool. It taught him about Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Fuzz, Auto-Wah/Envelope Filter, Harmonizer, Noise Gate, Compressor, EQ, amp modeling, and more — all in one box. The built-in drum machine is perfect for tempo-controlled practice, writing, and improvisation.

It's not boutique, but it's reliable, complete, and packed with value — a digital Swiss Army knife for players exploring their sound.
